| Opening Ceremony
Douro Film Harvest points out the start of this first edition with an official opening ceremony that honors the actress Andie MacDowell. This ceremony receives the American actress and honors her versatility and talent with a special screening of the film “Last Sign”, in which Andie MacDowell has the leading role.

| Screening of “Fados” and Cuca Roseta & Mário Pacheco Guitar Trio
Directed by the Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura, “Fados” is a documentary about the musical genre with the same name, which is the celebration of Portuguese lamenting acoustic folk songs. The film includes a performance played by Cuca Roseta, whose concert succeeds the film screening. The performance of Cuca Roseta & Mário Pacheco Guitar Trio continues the celebration of this typically Portuguese sonority and assures the evocation of the world-famous expression of the Portuguese soul.

| Harvest by Night
Douro Film Harvest’s official party has place in a docked boat in Douro’s river, unquestionably the best way of celebrating this first international film summit. This is an intimate and exquisite party, that brings the famous composer Kyle Eastwood and his jazz band to Portugal for the first time. In Kyle’s words, “my roots remain in jazz but I like adding all kinds of different flavors”, the main reason why his music is a mixture of jazz, swing, groove and funk overtones. After Kyle’s performance, a renowned Portuguese Dj with a unique and sophisticated style the party will be in charge of the party.

| Closing Ceremony
Douro Film Harvest closes its first edition with a tribute paid to the famous director Milos Forman. Vila Real’s Municipal Theatre receives the prestigious filmmaker, who is the director of successes such as “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest” or “Amadeus”. Forman’s long and renowned career is the reason of this tribute, which honors the director’s filmography.
The tribute is followed by the screening of the film “Amadeus” and both moments are orchestred.

From September 9th to 13th, the bar DOC is the meeting point of Douro Film Harvest. The place promises a calm and casual ambience, still surrounded by the magic spirit that involves the Seventh Art. Built over the Douro’s river, the place offers a privileged view in a relaxed atmosphere animated by guests Dj’s, being the perfect option for the end of the night.
